External Advisory Board

Raymond Dingledine, PhD

  • Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology, Emory School of Medicine
A major research emphasis of Dr. Raymond Dingledine involves identifying novel targets and pathways involved in the basic cellular and molecular mechanisms of epilepsy and new routes to clinical treatment of epilepsy and brain injury.

Daniela Kaufer, PhD

  • Professor of Integrative Biology and Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute, UC Berkeley
The Dr. Daniela Kaufer investigates molecular events that underlie brain plasticity and deterioration in the face of stress and neurological insults throughout life using interdisciplinary approaches ranging from cell culture to behavioral analysis.

Manisha Patel, PhD

  • Professor, Vice-Chair Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Colorado
The overarching theme of Dr. Manisha Patel's research is to understand the role of redox processes and metabolic mechanisms in epilepsy, aging and toxicant-induced brain injury.

Karen Wilcox, PhD

  • Distinguished Professor and Chair of Pharmacology and Toxicology, University of Utah
  • Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Engineering
Dr. Karen Wilcox's research focuses on understanding basic mechanisms underlying epileptogenesis, seizure generation, and therapy-resistance to anticonvulsant drugs.
